Typography Rules Designers Should Never Break
Typography is not only about making the words legible, it is more about art which is important in a graphic design. Excellent typography is something that makes an amateur designer a professional because it draws client’s attention and distinguishes among others. That is why there are some key fundamentals you should never break when it comes to typography.

Practice correct alignment. Alignment is quite important principle in typography. Pseudo-designers usually select between Center Aligned and Justified, which makes paragraphs unreadable. According to MS Word, there are four key alignment options: Left Aligned, Center Aligned, Right Aligned, and Justified. Left alignment or Flushed Left is used almost everywhere because this position is easy on the eyes. Right alignment or Flushed Right position works only if it is used correctly. Justified usually terrifies most of the experienced designers. One more thing to keep in mind is to mix the alignments carefully, because it may cost confusing on the text.
Limit your fonts. If you need more than one font, ensure to limit selection to two or three typefaces. You can use one font for the body, another one for the header, and the last one for the subhead. You may even experiment with different typeface families until you reach a cohesiveness in the pairing. Yet choosing two similar types can be accepted as a mistake on your part. That is why it is essential to choose the typefaces attentively.
Select a good secondary font for pairing. Type pairing makes your design readable, so when you have chosen the primary font, it is time to choose another one to emphasize it. The second typeface has to be as fascinating as the primary font without consistency losses.
Exclude font stretching. Fonts are built with careful attention to shapes and measurements of each letterform, so stretching the font will take away its effectiveness. If you want the typeface to be taller or wider than it is, refer to a catalog including any font type you could ever imagine: there are both tall and wide fonts and everything in between. Some of them are paid, but if you find your perfect typeface it will be priceless.
Treat typography as art. Think out of the box and treat the font like a form of art to make a stunning typeface. It is not just about fonts used in the text for your design yet the fonts requiring a level of virtuosity which becomes a benefit to your design set of tools.
